Friday 6th December at 6.00pm outside the Church, Christmas Lights Switch on

Come along for our annual Christmas switch on of the Barford lights, this is a delightful event for adults and particularly children as we ‘harness’ (there’s a clue) all that is fun & friendly about our village, sing a few Carols, and drink a bit of mulled wine, bring a plate of festive food to share…and maybe we’ll get a special visitor!!


Sunday 22nd December 1.00pm for 1.30pm at The Barford Inn, Village Christmas Lunch

As most of you will know we hold our annual on the Sunday before Christmas. We would love lots of Barfordians to come along and enjoy a Christmas meal together, everyone is welcome, young, old, children, babies, so if you would like to join us this is all you need to do is book directly with the Barford Inn, and when doing so let them know your menu choices from the options below:

Starters: Leek & potato soup, Breaded Brie with cranberry sauce, Homemade pate, Prawn cocktail

Main Courses: Roast turkey & traditional trimmings, Roast beef, Sea Bass with a sun blushed & tomato pesto dressing

Desserts: Christmas pudding & cream, Apple & cinnamon crumble with custard, Crème Brulee, Lemon posset

Full payment, of just £13.00 for three courses must be made at the time of booking. (By card if over the phone 01722 742242, or cheque or cash if you pop in) and you must book by 24th November at the absolute latest. Reservations will be taken on a first come first serve basis – this is a very popular village event, a great way to catch up with friends and make new ones



Sunday 22nd December at 4pm Village Carol Service at St Martin’s Church

This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the true meaning of Christmas and to sing your favourite carols whilst being reminded of the Nativity Story, and so close to Christmas Day this year too.  This simple service is very popular with villagers and consists of just Carols and traditional readings
