Barford councillors recently needed to replace a section of riverside fencing that was rotting away. Faced with the decision on what to replace it with councillors wanted to install something that would not only last a lot longer but something that would compliment the beauty of this particular location.
We wanted to go for estate railings, said Cllr Dunton, but we were concerned as the cost would be £4,700 - too much for the village to pay. However, help was at hand as Wilts. County Council, South West Area Board agreed to ‘match fund’ Barford PC.
Receiving a grant of £2,344 from the area board made the whole project possible.
